Swinton Park Hotel
The Swinton Estate is one of the largest privately owned estates in the country. It has been owned by the Cunliffe-Lister family since the 1880s, and is the ancestral seat of the Earl of Swinton, occupying 20,000 acres of the most commanding of landscapes on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The Estate is host to Swinton Park Hotel, a 17th century castellated building offering uniquely grand and spacious accommodation and event spaces.
With 20,000 acres to play with the Estate is also an ideal location for team building events, outdoor activities and car launches with a selection of more rustic and unusual venues to choose from. The Deer House is a converted barn overlooking the man-made Lake and Castle and ideal for BBQs, Hogg Roasts and casual gatherings, or for an even more rural experience look no further than the glamping site at Swinton Bivouac and the event Tipi located next to it.
The Estate is fortunate to have a variety of outdoor activities readily available and can also offer the services of an on-site team building company, Live for Today, who are perfectly positioned to create either fun or challenging activity packages. Swinton Estate is literally the perfect setting for a day of ''blue sky thinking''. With a choice of accommodation styles, drinking and dining options and the Swinton Countryclub with its extensive range of wellness facilities available there is everything you could possibly need for a successful event within our grounds.
New for 2025 are our Pommery Champagne and Croquet Lawn - ideal for pre-dinner drinks or a relaxed lunch al-fresco and the newly created private dining room, Adam's Folly is a quirky setting for private dinners of up to 20 guests. The Chef's Table by Josh Barnes offers a delicious private dining experience for smaller groups of up to 12 guests or for larger events then the Library and Panelled Room make for elegant and sophisticated settings.
The Swinton Estate also has firmly established roots in ESG and sustainability, eagerly providing tours and insight into our progress in these areas to visiting groups – perhaps the perfect opportunity to kick-start your own discussions….?

Swinton Estate has embarked on a brand new partnership with Yorkshire-based activities business Live For Today. The result will see a new offering of fabulous activities for guests and visitors alike, blending outdoor adventure and wellbeing.
Live For Today is an action-adventure outdoor activities company with five locations across North Yorkshire. It offers activities such as high ropes, quad biking and caving to paddleboarding, rock climbing and escape rooms.
Live For Today’s range of activities joins the myriad of experiences the Swinton Estate has to offer, curated to provide those who want an action packed stay – or to come just for the day – with a wide range of choice.
From archery, fly-fishing, clay pigeon shooting, cycling, and cookery school lessons through to wild swimming, Swinton Estate tours, meditation classes, cocktail making or getting up close to Birds of Prey – and much more. There is something for everyone.
