Welcome to Son Bunyola, Sir Richard Branson’s idyllic hideaway on Mallorca’s northwest coast. Set within the spectacular Tramuntana Mountains with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, this vast estate is a part of a World Heritage site, covering 1,300 acres and includes three villas - Sa Punta de S’Aguila, Sa Terra Rotja and Son Balagueret - plus a beautiful hotel.
The recently opened Son Bunyola Hotel joins the three existing villas on the 1,300-acre Son Bunyola estate. It has retained all of the original features and comprises of the main Finca, dating back to the 1500's, the Tafona, containing the historic olive press, and several annexe buildings. The hotel features 27 stunning rooms and suites, including two Tower Suites with stunning vineyard and mountain views, two restaurants, spa treatment rooms, and a historic terrace that is home to the pool and hot tub.
When it comes to food at the hotel think authentic Mallorcan dishes. We favour a farm to fork ethos and much of the produce served in the two restaurants is grown in the estates gardens and orchards. Sa Terrassa, the hotels main restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offers dishes using local and seasonal ingredients. The soon-to-open Sa Tafona, housed within the historic olive press, offers guests a playful take on tapas in the evenings.
Nestled along a track above the coastline, Sa Punta de S’Aguila - which translates as ‘Eagle’s Point’ - is a five-bedroom villa built in traditional Mallorcan style with exposed beam ceilings and terracotta tiled floors. Sleeping up to 10 guests, the panoramic sea and mountain views can be seen at every turn, whether in the private pool or on the tranquil bedroom terraces.
Translating as ‘Red Earth’ in the local Mallorquín language, Sa Terra Rotja is a four-bedroom villa with plenty of character. Sleeping up to 8 guests, there is also a private pool and endless terraces to soak up the sun. The villa is conveniently located near the edge of the estate with direct access to the communal tennis courts.
A traditional Malloran villa rich with history, Son Balagueret’s signature turret -where one room is located - dates back to the 13th century. Sleeping up to 8 guests, this four-bedroom villa has plenty of space to relax including in the picturesque courtyard central to the villa and the private pool with beautiful Mediterranean Sea views.
