Ulusaba

Ulusaba Private Game Reserve is the ultimate safari destination. Feel the adrenaline rush on sightings of the Big 5 on game drives! There are two beautiful lodges about 500m apart, and both lodges can be hired exclusively for larger groups. Rock Lodge is located high up on the summit of a koppie offering panoramic views of the Drakensberg Mountain range, while Safari Lodge is built along the banks of the dry Mabrak riverbed, in the heart of the wildlife.

South Africa is served by direct flights from the UK and other major European hubs, with flight times to Johannesburg between 10½ and 11½ hours depending on your point of origin. From the US there are direct flights from the East Coast, with flight times of roughly 18 hours. Ulusaba is approximately a 1 hour and 20-minute flight from the international airport in Johannesburg (JNB) flying by twin-engine aircraft, or 30 minutes from Nelspruit (NLP) and 20 minutes from Skukuza (SZK), via a charter air hop, which are the best airports to use if traveling from other destinations within South Africa. We have our own private Ulusaba airstrip (ULX) and there are daily scheduled and charter flights available.

Get a window seat - the view’s terrific! You can also come by road from Nelspruit, which will take about 2½ hours. Try and arrive by 1 pm - just in time for lunch!

Ulusaba has 20 rooms and suites, spread over two lodges: Rock Lodge and Safari Lodge. Safari Lodge can accommodate 20 guests sharing 10 rooms and suites, whilst Rock Lodge can accommodate 20-25 guests sharing 10 rooms and suites, including Cliff Lodge which can accommodate four adults and four children, and can be hired independently for smaller groups. Should you wish to hire both lodges on an exclusive-use basis, we would recommend a maximum group size of 40 people.

Just about everything is included! All food and drinks including fine wines and champagne, twice daily game drives, walking safari, laundry, use of all facilities (excluding spa treatments), and taxes.

HOW CAN ULUSABA BE BOOKED? Mostly hotel style, however, you can hire one or both lodges exclusively with a two-night minimum stay. Exclusive use of a lodge is required when you take 7 rooms or more. You can also book smaller groups.
