History
Hotel Lilla Roberts is turning a new and exciting leaf in the history of a dynamic property established in 1909. The building was initially built as a power plant for the city of Helsinki, and it remained in this role till 1974 when the Police department took up residence here. The building was then vacated in 2012, as the Police department relocated to other facilities.
The building was designed by architect Selim A. Lindqvist in 1909 as an electrical substation and administrational building. In 1913 and in 1926 the electrical substation was expanded in the courtyard area. The final and current shape of the building was completed in 1931, when the administration building for the Technical Institute was completed as planned by Helsinki’s official architect Gunnar Taucher.
Hotel Lilla Roberts has 130 stylish and spacious rooms. There are five room categories: Comfort, Style, Lux, Junior Suite and Suite. Connecting rooms are an excellent way of ensuring comfortable settings for families and guest who want more space. Our most spacious room is a unique 100 m2 suite overlooking the square of Kasarmitori, offering all the amenities of a luxury suite. The suite has two bedrooms, a living room, and two bathrooms.
